Adelaide Water Bills Soar from July 1 2011

The latest round of water price rises mean Adelaide households need slimline water tanks from Tanks in Tight Places now more than ever. 

From today, July 1 2011, South Australia's households will on average pay 40 per cent more for their water than they did last year.  The fixed annual water supply charge alone will increase a massive 65 per cent from today.  See table below.

Adelaide households who consume the smallest quantities of water each quarter face proportionally higher water price rises:  50 per cent price rise for up to 120 kilo litres. 

Adelaide water price rises coming into effect this week are the highest hikes by far of any of Australia's capital cities.

For Adelaide water consumers, the 2011 price hikes are a continuation of a four year trend.  Price rises from 2008 are shown in the table below.

Adelaide customers buying 31 to 130KL per quarter are paying over 4 times what they did prior to 2008.
